The share of buyers who stated that they believe property prices will rise the next six months fell slightly in Hemnet’s Buyers’ Barometer for November. Among the buyers surveyed, 20 percent now believe that prices will rise. By comparison, last month the figure was 22 percent.

The share of buyers who believe that property prices will fall remained unchanged at 38 percent compared to the same survey in October. The net figure for November is therefore -19 percentage points. A fall of 2 percentage points compared to October. This means that there have now been four consecutive months of falling property price expectations.

Percentage of buyers expecting:

Increasing prices: 19.6 percent (21.6% in the previous month)

Decreasing prices: 38.2 percent (38.5% in the previous month)

Unchanged prices: 42.2 percent (39.9% in the previous month)

Erik Holmberg, Market Analyst at Hemnet, commented:

“The trend of slightly decreasing price expectations among property buyers that we observed in the autumn continued in November. We now appear to be very close to the peak in interest rate. Signals as to how long interest will remain at this level will probably be important for price expectations. And thus also for how prices will continue to develop”.

Hemnet’s Buyers’ Barometer went out to 2,049 respondents between 1 and 3 November.
