Hemnet's Buyers' Barometer November 2026: More buyers expect falling housing prices

Meanwhile, the proportion of home buyers expecting rising housing prices decreased by 2 percentage points, from 34 percent in October to 32 percent in November.

Overall, this results in a net figure (the difference between the proportion expecting rising versus falling housing prices) of +11 percentage points in November. This is a decrease of 5 percentage points compared to October.

Share of buyers who expect:

• Rising prices: 32.3 percent (34.4% previous month)
• Falling prices: 20.9 percent (17.7% previous month)
• Unchanged prices: 46.9 percent (47.8% previous month)

"That more home buyers now expect falling housing prices is expected against the backdrop of the higher interest rate environment. Even though the survey was conducted before the Riksbank's latest interest rate decision, the hike was anticipated and has likely influenced buyers' views on price development. We have an autumn with strong development in the housing market behind us, and it remains to be seen what effect the rate hike will have going forward. Buyers' price expectations are usually a good indicator of future price movements, but at the same time, it is worth noting that there are still more people who expect rising rather than falling housing prices."

Hemnet's Buyers' Barometer was sent to 2,122 respondents between 1 November and 4 November 2026.
